David A. David’s personal practice focuses on insurance planning, wealth accumulation, pension planning and estate planning strategies for individuals, families and business owners. David is a Registered Principal with his series 24 license and holds seminars for business owners and industry professionals. A third-generation financial services professional, his dad, Nathan M. Perlmutter, President and CEO of Forest Hills Financial Group, founded the firm in 1980 as a General Agent of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America and has earned legendary status in the industry. FHFG is one of the leading agencies representing Guardian today, and David’s sister Andie, COO at FHFG completes the Perlmutter team at FHFG.
David began his professional career on the New York Mercantile Exchange as a reporter and worked his way up to trading crude oil before deciding to enter the financial services industry and join the family business in 2007. His strong sense of industry and community keeps him actively involved and he is a consistent qualifier for numerous industry recognition awards. Cited for outstanding leadership, in 2015 David was the only manager recognized by Guardian Life as a recipient of GAMA’s Brian H. Early Frontline Excellence Award, which recognizes managers who are role models for others and are emerging leaders of their companies. He is an active member of the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU) and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA). David is also involved with the UJA Federation and Israel Bonds. Passionate about supporting organizations like No Kid Hungry and Toys for Tots, David is also instrumental in initiating many of the firm’s philanthropic endeavors.
Always a sports enthusiast, David enjoys playing basketball and golf, and loves spending time with his family. David’s hometown is Merrick, NY and he now resides in Syosset, NY with his wife Amanda, son Levi and daughter Stevie.
