David A. As Managing Partner, David oversees the firm's sales operations and talent acquisition, proficient at building and fostering a successful network of talented advisors. He believes success is built through mentorship, continuous education, collaboration, and a culture that inspires people to thrive. David serves as a valuable resource for the firm’s experienced associates leveraging their established industry knowledge and experience with the specialized capabilities of the firm’s advanced planning team. He also enjoys mentoring new associates, laying the groundwork for rewarding and successful careers centered on improving the lives of others. In his personal practice, David specializes in integrating insurance strategies into a client’s overall financial plan. His areas of expertise include wealth accumulation, retirement income planning, pensions and estate planning for individuals, families, and business owners. As a Registered Principal holding the Series 24 license, David also conducts educational seminars for business owners and industry professionals.
A third-generation financial services leader, David, proudly continues the legacy established by his father, Nathan M. Perlmutter, who founded FHFG in 1980 as a General Agent with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, earning legendary status in the industry. Today, FHFG remains one of Guardian's leading agencies nationwide. Alongside his sister, Andie Perlmutter, Chief Operating Officer, and Managing Partner Amy Salo, David helps lead the firm with a vision grounded in innovation, collaboration, and exceptional service.
Throughout his career, David has consistently qualified for numerous industry recognition programs and has earned distinction for his leadership within the profession. In 2015, he was Guardian Life's sole recipient of GAMA International's Brian H. Early Frontline Excellence Award, presented to emerging managers who demonstrate exceptional leadership and serve as role models within the financial services industry. He is an active member of the industry association Finseca, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), UJA-Federation of New York, and Israel Bonds. Community involvement is central to David's personal values and FHFG’s culture. He has helped lead many of FHFG's philanthropic initiatives, supporting organizations such as No Kid Hungry, Toys for Tots, and local charitable causes that reflect the firm's longstanding commitment to making a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.
Outside the office, David enjoys playing basketball and golf and spending quality time with his family. He also has enthusiastically embraced his "second job" as a bus driver and coach for his three children's sports teams and after-school activities. A native of Merrick, New York, David lives in Syosset with his wife, Amanda, and their three children, Levi, Stevie, and Mack.
