Faisal Shahed, MBA
Financial Advisor
Faisal Shahed began his career in the financial industry with Forest Hills Financial Group (FHFG) in 2003. He has an Honors and Masters degree in Marketing from the prestigious Dhaka University in Bangladesh and an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas. His professional background includes working for British American Tobacco in Bangladesh and Acxiom a Fortune 500 company, where he interned during his college years in Arkansas. Faisal has always had an inclination for the financial industry. He remembers fondly how he and his college roommate romanticized about trading in the NY stock exchange and setting up a hedge fund one day. That lure of trading brought Faisal to New York. During his first three years with FHFG, Faisal realized how badly people needed advise for their financial life and that true private money management is a luxury available only to the ultra-rich. Over the past few years he has worked with some of the top advisors in the country. Faisal belongs to an elite group of financial professionals who do true comprehensive macro planning. He strongly believes that real estate can be a significant part in one’s retirement. Faisal has a strong alliance with some of the brightest and experienced advisors in other fields that allow him to offer his clients strategies that work, that are meaningful, and can be executed properly. This comprehensive approach has won him a stream of loyal clients. Today Faisal has a practice that he is very proud of, and most of his clients come in as recommendations from his existing clients. Faisal feels that a strong client/advisor relationship should last a lifetime.
Faisal specializes in designing tailored plans for individual clients and is also very involved in the pension market. His pension team uses some of the most cutting edge techniques to help business owners increase their retirement contributions, especially if they are behind in retirement planning. Faisal also finds it very compelling to work in the corporate market. He feels these are the people who get almost no advice, yet many of them are making significant income. His planning techniques help them compliment their current plan with their firm as well as help them design an easy transition once they retire or move to another company. To Faisal, financial planning is more than figuring out a dollar number. It is more about the person’s personal value and how they perceive the world and would like to be remembered. Faisal sees financial planning as a spiritual journey that teaches one about who they are, the importance of family, love, freedom, and their responsibility to society.
Faisal loves traveling and gets to do so when he meets with clients outside New York. He also speaks at business classes at University of Central Arkansas. Faisal comes from a loving family, which includes his father Rashid Ahmed, mother Hasna Rashid, and sister Nadia.
