Hector M. Rivera, CFP®, CLU® is the Director of Investments and a Financial Advisor with Forest Hills Financial Group (FHFG) working in both the NYC and Melville locations. As a Certified Financial Planner™, Hector helps his clients plan and achieve the goals that are most important to them. He is committed to simplifying the process so they can enjoy what they love most - spending time with their families, traveling the world or simply enjoying their retirement. With over a decade of wealth management experience, as Director of Investments, Hector trains the firm’s financial advisors on investment strategies that will help achieve client goals and guide clients through the changing financial markets. Hector and the firm’s advisors collaborate to analyze the investment portfolios from clients and potential clients to solve for any inefficiencies they may find. Hector has the unique ability to bring people and resources together while building and maintaining strong relationships with the clients and associates he works with.
Hector graduated from Bernard M. Baruch College (CUNY) in 2010 with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Finance and Investments. While attending school, Hector began his professional career as a Customer Service Representative at HSBC Bank in 2005. Working with clients and their finances inspired him to pursue his career in wealth management. He advanced through several roles at HSBC before becoming a high net worth client Relationship Manager at Citibank in 2012.
At Citibank, he took a leadership role as a mentor to new relationship managers helping them with product knowledge, prospecting, and best practices. Prior to joining FHFG, as a Business Development Manager at Guardian/Park Ave Securities, Hector partnered with top insurance agents and agency leadership in the Northeast region to help grow their investment relationships with their clients as a crucial part of the planning process. His strong interest in planning led him to attain the Certified Financial Planner™(CFP®) and Chartered Life Underwriter®(CLU®) designations. Hector has earned numerous awards in Sales Excellence, Customer Service and Leadership, and now brings his extensive industry knowledge and management skills to FHFG.
Hector’s strong sense of industry and community keep him actively involved as a member of the NYC Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and a member of the Baruch College Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA) and a Former Member and Public Relations Officer of Westchester Toastmasters. In 2010, Hector ran the NYC Marathon and raised money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). In his spare time, Hector enjoys traveling, CrossFit and spending time with family and friends. Hector was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, and now resides in Westchester, NY with his wife Melissa and their dog Hershey.
