Ken Cusick

Kenneth Cusick (Ken) has been at the helm as Manager of the New Business Underwriting Department of Forest Hills Financial Group (FHFG) since 2000. Based in the Forest Hills office, he is a proven leader and has thrived in managing his team and colleagues to establish and achieve their mutual objectives. Ken takes pride in his ability to simplify complex problems into simple terms, and is a team-oriented player whose focus is on offering detailed information and guidance to make it easier for his staff and associates to meet or exceed their business goals. This may entail advocating for a better rating, helping an agent design a product that will provide the coverage a client is looking for, or helping to find the right words to make an effective sales presentation. Often times Ken is the sounding board when someone needs to talk through an idea or work through an obstacle. He is committed to doing what’s right, and continually works to expand his knowledge, skills and leadership abilities on behalf of FHFG as well as the individual clients and businesses he serves. 

Ken graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Political Science, and took graduate courses in Political Science at the City University of New York (CUNY). While still in school his first job was working for his father, who started one of the first Stock Loan firms on Wall Street. Ken began his professional career running a limousine company for several years, but still maintained an interest in financial services. Always enterprising, he found his opportunity too limited and entered the financial services industry where he earned his life/health licensing along with Series 6, 7, 24, 63 & ALMI. 

Ken’s strong sense of community keeps him actively involved as a member of the Wild Life Conservation Society and member of a Community Sponsored Agriculture program. He enjoys playing golf, reading history, and loves nothing more than a quiet Sunday brunch at home with his wife Harriet and daughter Elissa as they read through the morning papers. 

Ken and Harriet reside in Queens, NY.
